Taking some advice from Justine and, surprisingly, Cloud, she decides to launch a website where she can blog to her fans about her life. Her first post clarifies why she left The Girlfriend Hour and signals to her followers that she’s ready to kick off a new chapter. Their marriage has officially been annulled, and Kate also points out that they’re just a day away from what was going to be Tully’s original due date before she had the miscarriage. Tully claims she’s fine and has moved on from everything. Kate is dealing with the aftermath of Johnny’s accident in Iraq. The good news is that Johnny survived, though he’s pretty banged up.
The aftermath of the WI meeting about the ambulance initiative also prompts Frances to once again approach Joyce Cameron and ask for her support of the project. Even more, she asks her to rejoin the WI, saying it would benefit the endeavor immensely and show unity in the community. Frances insists she harbors no hard feelings against Joyce and that she really does desire her support. But Joyce refuses, initially with the reasons that she inevitably will want to be in charge because she is wired to take the lead. She wants to be “above” the rest of the villagers, not an equal. But then she also tells Joyce that her husband has decided to relocate them to the coast because of the approaching war casualties.
In a touching scene, Erica finds Will at the local pub and asks him to come home after his work is done instead of always going to the pub. She tearfully admits that she knows she’s not dealing with his illness well, but begs him to be patient with her because she’s terrified at the prospect of losing him. At her plea, he softens and agrees to go home with her. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing their continued journey, but also hope they break the news to their daughters soon.
In the 1970s, Kate tries her hand at throwing another party at her house. Margie is out for the night, so it’s just Bud and he agrees to stay in his room. The plan is to host an AV Club night to showcase Eugene’s movie to the group. But a few of the kids smuggle in alcohol, and the night takes a turn into debauchery with Tully, Kate, Eugene, and even Lisa-Karen getting drunk.
He tells Johnny that they need to get the ratings up ASAP and appease viewers, or he’ll be making some big changes, which likely means firing Tully. Even though she’s had a few drinks, she still immediately gets in her car to pick up her goddaughter. Someone T-bones them at an intersection, and the episode ends with Tully and Marah both in the hospital. Tully appears to be okay, but Marah’s fate is left up in the air.
